URBAN RITUAL

During the corona crisis, I felt it was important to bring people closer together, despite the physical distance we had to keep. So I brought together different dancers, musicians and actors to create a performance together.

I used texts by Becket and drew inspiration from Kanye West’s work to create a modern church service, which I called Urban Ritual. Although we had to observe the 1.5-metre rule, we were still able to enjoy text, music and movement together.

City Ritual was a musical gathering that took place at the Art Festival Timeless, offering the opportunity to escape the reality of the pandemic for a while. It was a performance that demonstrated how art and creativity can help us get through difficult times and continue to connect with others. I am glad I was able to share this unique experience with the audience. Below is visual material that gives an idea of the atmosphere of the performance. This gives a good idea of what you could expect during Urban Ritual.
